Manchester United are keen to beat AC Milan to the signing of France international Youssouf Fofana this summer from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco. The Red Devils are in the market for a new defensive midfielder after failing to trigger the buy option clause for Sofyan Amrabat.
French midfielder Fofana has made clear his intentions to leave the principality club this summer, with Italy his preferred destination. AC Milan have registered their interest in the Frenchman and held talks with his club over a transfer to the San Siro. Both clubs have, however, failed to find a common ground to facilitate the transfer of the 25-year-old.
