Manchester United set to beat Arsenal and Chelsea in race to sign 14-year-old wonderkid: Reports
Manchester United are set to leave behind Chelsea and Arsenal in signing Cre8ive Football Academy star Emmanuel Ziro, according to the Daily Mail (via Metro UK.) While all three clubs showed a lot of interest in signing the U15 player, United reportedly edged their competitors out comfortably.
United have also turned their attention towards signing another wonderkid - a 16-year-old striker called Michael Noonan of Irish club St Patrick's Athletic. Manchester City too have expressed an interest in bringing Noonan to their club, and it appears as if they will have to battle it out with their cross-town rivals.
While Ziro is thought to be among the best young players in England at the moment, Noonan too is highly rated by his Irish peers. Ziro is renowned for his ability to keep the ball under pressure as well as for his strength and pace on it. Noonan, on the other hand, has done himself proud with many first-touch finishes.
Manchester United set to undergo several changes under Ruben Amorim
Manchester United are expected to undergo several changes under new head coach Ruben Amorim. The latter has already arrived at the club and started his preparations ahead of his first game in charge against Ipswich Town on November 24, right after the international break.
One of the biggest changes one can expect to see at United is the presence of a three-man backline, which Amorim prefers a lot. Young striker Joshua Zirkzee, who arrived at Old Trafford this year, might not retain his place in the squad after Amorim reportedly felt he is 'not adequate' for the club.
The former Sporting CP boss is also expected to make a few reinforcements in the January transfer window. Prolific goalscorer Viktor Gyokeres is heavily linked with United in recent weeks. He has scored 23 goals and provided four assists in 18 games across all competitions this season.
Manchester United have had one of their worst seasons in the EPL so far, and are ranked 13th at the moment. Having won just four out of 11 matches they have played so far, the Red Devils have only 15 points in their kitty. Their most recent game was a 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday, November 10.
