Manchester United star Marcus Rashford banned from driving for 6 months after he was caught speeding - Reports

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford will not be steering the wheels of any of his luxurious cars anytime soon after he was handed a six-month driving ban. The 26-year-old admitted to speeding and has also been handed a fine.

Rashford was caught speeding in a Rolls-Royce in December last year. As per Sky News, the Englishman was apprehended for hitting the gas at a speed of 104mph. Now, he has been disqualified from driving for the next six months, fined £1,666, and ordered to pay £120 court costs and a £66 surcharge.

This is not the first notable auto incident surrounding the Manchester United forward in recent months. In September, three months before the speeding incident, Rashford made headlines after crashing one of his Rolls-Royces into another car. However, he came out unscathed and no arrests were made.

Rashford is said to be a lover of fast cars and reportedly owns multiple Rolls-Royces and other luxurious rides like a McLaren, a Black Badge Cullinan, a Cullinan Blue Shadow, and a Lamborghini.

Due to an underwhelming 2023-24 season, he was left out of England's squad to Euro 2024. It's worth noting that it was the first time since his international debut that Rashford was left out of the Three Lions squad to a major tournament

Marcus Rashford to face more competition after the signing of Joshua Zirkzee

Marcus Rashford must up his game to increase his chances of getting regular playing time next season. This is after the Red Devils added another forward to their roster with the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for a reported £36.5 million.

Rashford has been one of United's most reliable players in recent years. However, he has also shown glimpses of inconsistency. Last term, he suffered a challenging season, managing just eight goals and five assists in 43 games across competitions. This was after he produced a massive 30 goals and 10 assists in 56 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

This inefficiency in the final third saw the club finish eighth in the league and record a negative goal difference last season. Thus, prompting the signing of Zirkzee who alongside Rasmus Hojlund will head into the new season as Marcus Rashford's major rivals for a place in United's starting XI.
