Manchester United star names Paul Scholes as the one former player he would have loved to play with
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has named Red Devils icon Paul Scholes as one former player he would love to play with. The defender made his pick during a conversation with GOAL.
Luke Shaw joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2014. During his stay at the club, he's had the privilege to play alongside many top-rated players including Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But if he got the opportunity to play with a former player, Shaw would like to share the pitch with Paul Scholes, as he said during a Q&A session. When asked which former Manchester United player he would love to play with, the defender responded:
"Paul Scholes."

The left-back's pick isn't surprising. Paul Scholes is one of the greatest players to represent Manchester United in their long and illustrious history. The iconic midfielder spent his entire club career at Old Trafford, playing 715 games across competitions, recording 155 goals and 81 assists.
He also won 25 trophies at the club, including 11 Premier Leagues, two UEFA Champions League and three FA Cups among others.
Meanwhile, Luke Shaw has so far made 275 appearances in all competitions during his decade-long spell at Manchester United, contributing four goals and 28 assists. He's won five honors at the club, namely one Europa League crown, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups and one Community Shield.
What's next for Manchester United?
After enduring a difficult outing in the Premier League last season, where they finished eighth, United are expected to be decisive with their dealings this summer ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The first and probably the most important decision is to decide the fate of Erik ten Hag. According to a report from BBC, it appears the club's hierarchy have finally chosen to stick by the former Ajax tactician.
The next thing would be to back him in the transfer market. The Red Devils will need to strengthen their squad in multiple areas, including central defense, defensive midfield and centre-forward.
