Manchester United star Raphael Varane provides injury update on social media ahead of Burnley clash

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has provided an update on his fitness as his side prepare to face relegation-threatened Burnley in the Premier League. The Red Devils will be keen to pick up all three points against the Clarets to continue their two-game winning run.

The Red Devils have struggled with injuries this season, with nearly every member of their backline spending time on the sidelines with a problem. In their last two games, they have had to play a midfielder at center-back because they had only one fit senior player in the position.

Raphael Varane has been out of action for Manchester United since picking up an injury in their dramatic 4-3 defeat to Chelsea on April 4. He was replaced by Jonny Evans at half-time, only for the veteran to also be withdrawn shortly after through injury.

The France international has now provided an update to the club's fans as they prepare for the final fixtures in the league and FA Cup final. Posting a photo of himself at home on Instagram, he revealed that he is resting and preparing to return to action at the earliest possibility.

"Resting well. Racing to get back ready to play in front of you again. Just wanted to check in and say I appreciate all your support, especially yesterday (Thursday)!" Varane wrote.

Raphael Varane is set to be out of a contract with the Red Devils by the end of the season, with the club having declined their option to extend his contract. Without an offer from the club, the former Real Madrid star will exit Old Trafford as a free agent once the season ends.

Manchester United set to welcome star ahead of Burnley clash

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is back with the squad as they prepare to face Burnley in the Premier League. The England international has not featured in the side's last two games, having picked up an injury in training.

A summer signing from Chelsea, Mount has seen his season severely hampered by injuries, and has played only 432 minutes in the Premier League this season. This has resulted in just the one goal for the midfielder, which came against Brentford in March.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Mount has returned to training and is in contention to face Burnley on Saturday. The Englishman will be keen to end the season strongly if he harbours hopes of making it to the Three Lions squad for the Euros in the summer.
