Manchester United star sends 2-word message to Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr following standout display against Dortmund
Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho has sent a message to Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr following his hattrick against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, October 22. The Brazilian star inspired Los Blancos to a 5-2 comeback win over the German giants in the Champions League.
The LaLiga champions went 2-0 down in the first half but rallied after the break to get back into the game. Antonio Rudiger initiated the comeback in the 60th minute before Vinicius scored his first two minutes later.
Lucas Vazquez sent Real Madrid 3-2 ahead in the 83rd minute before Vinicius Jr took matters into his own hands. The Brazilian scored in the 86th minute and completed his hat-trick in the third minute of injury time.
The 24-year-old's efforts impressed Manchester United starlet Alejandro Garnacho. The Real Madrid No. 7 shared a picture on social media after the game, and the Argentine responded with a comment.
"Big inspiration," wrote Garnacho.
Garnacho has once again impressed for the Red Devils this season. The 20-year-old has registered five goals and three assists from 12 games across competitions for Manchester United in the current campaign.
Could Manchester United prise Vinicius Jr. away from Real Madrid in 2025?
Manchester United reportedly have had their eyes on the Vinicius Jr for a while. The Brazilian has been outstanding for Real Madrid of late and is the frontrunner for this year's Ballon d'Or.
This season, he has registered eight goals and seven assists from 14 games across competitions. The player was heavily linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu over the summer, amid interest from the Red Devils and Saudi Arabian clubs.
The Premier League giants plan to return to their heydays under new minority owners INEOS, who took charge at the club earlier this year. Manchester United have undergone several high-profile changes behind the scenes while also heavily investing in the squad.
However, their efforts are yet to be reflected on the pitch, with the team struggling under Erik ten Hag. Further reinforcements are required if United are to compete with the best.
A move for Vinicius Jr makes sense, as it would be a statement signing for INEOS. Kylian Mbappe's arrival has also raised doubts about the Brazilian's continuity with Los Blancos. However, given his recent form, Real Madrid are unlikely to entertain any offers for the Brazilian.
