Regarded as one of the rising stars in European football, Turkiye international Yildiz showed exactly why he was held in high regard. The 19-year-old was a constant thorn in the flesh of Pep Guardiola's side and registered an assist for Dusan Vlahovic's opener in the game.
Kenan Yildiz spoke with Tuttosport about the recognition he got from the Manchester United legend, terming it a 'pleasure'. The youngster also expressed his pride at having caught the eye against a team such as Manchester City.
“It’s only a pleasure to be appreciated by a champion like him. It’s a great source of pride, a great feeling, especially coming after an important victory like the one against Manchester City,” he said.
Yildiz was awarded the Golden Boy Web Award by Tuttosport. The teenager has seen a meteoric rise under Thiago Motta this season with four goals and four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
Corriere dello Sport report that Manchester United have already seen an approach for the Germany-born prodigy turned down by Juventus. The youngster penned a contract extension in the summer to keep him in Turin until 2029, and has been given the number 10 shirt at the club.
