Marc Cucurella's agent provides update on Chelsea star’s future after Euro 2024 heroics

Left-back Marc Cucurella has no plans to leave Chelsea this summer, his agent Aleix Pique has claimed. The Spaniard is happy at Stamford Bridge and is looking forward to the upcoming season with the Blues.

Speaking to La Ser, Pique dismissed the possibility of Cucurella leaving Stamford Bridge this summer. He claimed that if there were no dramatic changes in his situation, the defender would stay put. He said (via Fabrizio Romano):

"Cucurella is very comfortable and happy at Chelsea and in London. His idea is to stay at the club. Under normal circumstances, he will continue there."

The comments may not go down well with former Chelsea player Wayne Bridge, who recently urged the Blues to sell Cucurella this summer. He claimed that Ben Chilwell was the better of the two and told BetFred:

"I think so, yeah. Marc [Cucurella] did really well at Brighton, he's done okay for Spain, but it hasn't really worked out for him at Chelsea really. It's hard, when you move clubs, to continue playing as well as you have been. You can play in different formations and you're playing with different players. Just because you've done really well for one club doesn't mean that you're going to automatically click within another. It doesn't always go that way. If the decision was mine, out of the two I'd be keeping Ben Chilwell."

Marc Cucurella has been in impressive form for Spain at the EURO 2024. He has been a key figure as they made their way to the final, where they will take on England on Sunday, July 14.

Marc Cucurella playing agent as he pushes Spain star to join Chelsea

Marc Cucurella admitted that he had been asking Spain teammate Nico Williams to join Chelsea this summer. The defender stated that Williams would be a brilliant signing for Barcelona if he joins them, but would like to see him join the Blues.

He said (via GOAL):

"He is a great player, he is bringing out all his potential. It is a source of pride that he is on our team, that he is our teammate, and with players like him, everything is easier. He would be a great signing [for Barcelona], but it all depends on what he wants. I've been telling him to sign for Chelsea… In the end, everything depends on him. He is very young, with a lot of experience. I think he will be a great player."

Nico Williams reportedly has a €58 million release clause and is being targetted by Chelsea and Barcelona, with the latter said to be currently leading the chase.
