Marcus Rashford shares Christmas message with family on Instagram amid uncertainty over Manchester United future
Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford, who faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after a recent turn of events, shared a Christmas post with his family on Instagram on Tuesday, December 24. The writer posted a picture with his family, celebrating Christmas, with the caption:
"Family time - Happy Christmas everyone."
Here's the post:
New head coach Ruben Amorim has not picked the Englishman in the Manchester United squad for the club's last three matches. Rashford was last in action for the Red Devils in their UEFA Europa League clash against Victoria Plzen on 12 December, which they won 2-1.
Rashford has been far from his best in the Premier League this season. In 15 league matches, majorly operating on the left, Rashford has scored four goals and bagged an assist for Manchester United.
"You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United" - Marcus Rashford
Rashford spoke to journalist Henry Winter about his Manchester United future, hinting that he could be looking for greener pastures. He said he was ready for a new challenge, sending rumor mills into overdrive as speculations over his potential exit continued to make the rounds.
He said in the aforementioned interview on Wednesday, December 18:
“For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it's going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person."
"If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me,” he added.
The interview seems to have further weakened Rashford's position at the club as Amorim continues to keep him out of the squad despite their on-field struggles. The Red Devils are currently 13th in the league table with 22 points, most recently losing 3-0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, December 22.
