Mark Lawrenson makes his prediction for Manchester City vs West Ham United

Mark Lawrenson has tipped Manchester City to defeat West Ham United and claim their sixth Premier League title in seven years on Sunday (May 19). The former Liverpool defender has also made several other claims ahead of the final Premier League matchday.

Lawrenson thinks Pep Guardiola's side will not relinquish the EPL title after almost winning it last week. Therefore, he believes the Blues will win their last game against David Moyes' West Ham by a score of 3-0.

"I can only see this going one way, and that’s Manchester City winning. I can’t see them getting to this position and then throwing it away, that’s just not them, is it? Manchester City 3-0 West Ham," Mark Lawrenson said (via Paddy Power News).

Additionally, Mark Lawrenson predicted that Arsenal will also win their last match against Everton by a scoreline of 3-0. Another of his predictions is that Manchester United will lose 1-2 to Brighton and will not have a silver lining to an underwhelming season.

Manchester City will carve their names in the history of English football forever if they win against West Ham and clinch the Premier League title on Sunday. They are in the driving seat in the title race, and a win on the last matchday in Etihad will be enough to make them the Premier League champions.

They would become the PL champions for the fourth consecutive time, something that even Sir Alex Fergusson's legendary Manchester United or Liverpool's dynastic side of the 1970s and 1980s couldn't achieve.

Pep Guardiola's side will also face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on May 25. So, the players will have a chance to make the double this season before going off to play the Euro and the Copa America for their respective nations.

Speaking about the impending record, Manchester City star Phil Foden remarked:

"It's history and I don't think I can ever see it being done again." (via Goal.com).

He further said winning the two finals will give the players confidence to perform well in the Euro 2024.

"We'll give everything to try and achieve success and try and do the Premier League four times which has never been done before. It would mean a lot to us."
