Alan Shearer predicts winner of Euro 2024 semifinal clash between Spain and Kylian Mbappe-led France
English legend Alan Shearer shared his opinion on the Euro 2024 semifinal clash between Spain and France. He expressed confidence in Les Bleus winning the clash while not being impressed by the French captain's performance in the ongoing tournament.
Shearer said on the Rest is Football podcast on YouTube:
"I’m with France. It’s incredible [to get this far] with two own goals and a penalty. Mbappe has been poor, hasn't he? Their defence has been solid. [In attack] they’ve got so many options but none of them have worked."
Explaining his reason for backing Didier Deschamps' squad, Shearer added:
"They’ve tried everyone. I’m backing France to go through because of their defence and the players Spain have missing [due to suspension]."
The Euro 2024 final is slated for July 14, at Olympiastadion Berlin. The winner between France and Spain will take on either England or the Netherlands.
