"Michael Jordan defended like a son of a b****": PSG boss Luis Enrique's message to Kylian Mbappe before UCL clash last season surfaces

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Luis Enrique's talk to Kylian Mbappe from last season has been revealed. Ahead of a fixture in the Champions League, the Spaniard asked the star attacker to draw inspiration from one of his role models, Michael Jordan.

Enrique said (via Movistar Plus):

"I read that you liked Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan defended like a son of a b****."

Enrique took charge in what eventually proved to be Mbappe's last season with Les Parisiens. The French giants managed to win Ligue 1 but failed in the Champions League, falling to Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals. The 25-year-old remained in prime form throughout the season, collecting an impressive 44 goals and 10 assists in 48 games.

Mbappe eventually completed the move to Real Madrid in the summer after being heavily linked with Los Blancos for a long time. He has carried over his form from last season, collecting seven goals and one assist in 10 games for the Spanish giants.

Didier Deschamps opens up on decision to drop Kylian Mbappe from France squad

France national team manager Didier Deschamps explained why he did not select Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe for Les Bleus' squad for the international break. Speaking to the press, he said (via GOAL):

"I spoke with Kylian about the situation, which is still uncertain after coming on as a substitute on Wednesday. He has a match on Saturday and there are questions," Deschamps told reporters explaining his decision to leave out Mbappe.
"He has a problem which is not serious but he needs treatment to recover properly. I am not here to take risks. That is why Kylian is not here. I have no doubt about Kylian's commitment but he was not in the best condition during the last gathering."

The star attacker has suffered a thigh injury in recent times which saw him miss the clash against Atletico Madrid. He was named on the bench against LOSC Lille in the Champions League but came on for a short cameo towards the end of the game as Los Blancos chased a deficit unsuccessfully.

Mbappe is not the only high-profile name to miss out, as N'Golo Kante and Adrien Rabiot have also not been named. Didier Deschamps has opted for a younger team, handing call-ups to the likes of Bradley Barcola and Michael Olise.
