"Might be one of these situations where it suits both parties" – Ally McCoist believes Liverpool superstar will leave club in summer

Rangers legend Ally McCoist has claimed that Mohamed Salah will secure a move away from Liverpool after a 2-2 draw against West Ham United this Saturday (April 27).

During their visit to London Stadium, the Reds produced a lacklustre performance. Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring in the 43rd minute before the visitors netted two goals in the second half. However, Michail Antonio levelled things with a header in the 77th minute.

Salah, who has scored just once in his last eight appearances, came on as a 79th-minute substitute in place of Luis Diaz. Before entering the pitch, he got involved in an argument with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

In the aftermath of the contest, McCoist was asked if Salah will follow Klopp out of the door at the end of the ongoing 2023-24 campaign. The 61-year-old responded (h/t TBR):

"Yes, I do, to tell you the truth. I think he has been one of the best players we have seen in this league. He has been nothing short of fantastic for Liverpool, but his form has dipped. I don't think anybody can argue with that, and it just looks to me, and it's guesswork, but it looks to me as if he might be moving."

Claiming that Salah's exit will be beneficial for all, McCoist concluded:

"I think it might be one of these situations where it suits both parties. It might suit Mo Salah to move on, and it might suit the club to reinvest the money they will get for him [in the summer]."

Salah, whose current contract is set to expire next June, has found the back of the net 24 times in 41 games across all competitions for Liverpool this season. He has also laid out 13 assists in 2,860 minutes.

Pundit urges Liverpool to replace defender

In his column for Sky Sports, Reds great Jamie Carragher claimed that his former team should look to sign a new centre-back to replace Ibrahima Konate. He wrote (h/t TBR):

"Konate has been so poor of late. Liverpool need to buy a centre-back in the summer."

Konate, who was dropped for the clash at West Ham United, has made 90 overall appearances for the Anfield outfit so far. The 24-year-old has helped his club keep 31 shutouts and contributed three goals.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have recently been linked with a host of centre-backs with Joel Matip likely to be released. They are keeping tabs on Willian Pacho, Leny Yoro, Goncalo Inacio, and Piero Hincapie.
