“More impressive than what anyone else has done” - Premier League star labels Chelsea ace Cole Palmer as Player of the Season
Fulham captain Tom Cairney has named Chelsea star Cole Palmer as his 2023-24 Premier League Player of the Season. He also believes the Englishman was the signing of the season because of his impact at Stamford Bridge after joining from Manchester City.
Speaking on BBC's The Players Channel podcast, Cairney was full of praise for Palmer. He also highlighted that the 22-year-old was unfazed in pressure situations, especially with spot-kicks, and said:
"I'm giving it Palmer. I think Palmer Signing of the Season and Player of the Season. He gets bought for £40 million and he has put the team on his back, literally. Even early in the season with them big penalties, he said no give me the ball. He's been the star man. What he's done in a Chelsea shirt is more impressive than what anyone else has done in my opinion."
Cole Palmer has played 32 matches this season in the Premier League for Chelsea, scoring 22 and assisting 10 goals.

"Phenomenal talent. He just has this body language which makes everything look stupidly easy. His control and everything about his manner just looks so relaxed and comfortable. He's just unbelievable, he's brilliant."
Wright was also in awe of the Blue star and said:
"Cole Palmer, his 22nd Premier League goal of the season. What a footballer. I'd forgotten as well, he didn't play the first nine games of the season. I mean his numbers are incredible and he's so silky. He could end up being the best of the lot."
Cole Palmer can break Frank Lampard's goal-scoring record on the season's final day. He has equalled the Blues legend's best-ever scoring season with 22 goals this term.
