Nacho dubs Cristiano Ronaldo as the GOAT as he provides touching response to Real Madrid legend’s farewell message

Outgoing Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has thanked club legend Cristiano Ronaldo for his parting message as he prepares to leave Los Blancos this summer. The 34-year-old has been at the club since the 2010-11 season.

Nacho has 16 goals and 10 assists in 364 games across competitions for Los Blancos. That includes an assist in 45 games across competitions last season as Carlo Ancelotti's side won three titles, including La Liga and UEFA Champions League.

With his deal coming to an end, the Spaniard has decided to embark on a different challenge as he announced his departure from the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo wished him well for his next endeavour, posting on Instagram:

"You are one of the heroes of Real Madrid's great history. Be proud of what you achieved, Nacho"

The Spaniard responded by calling Ronaldo the best of all time (as per Cristiano Xtra):

“Thank you, Chris! I am honored to have played so many matches and victories with you. You are the greatest.”

Nacho and Ronaldo are both in action at the ongoing Euro 2024 for Spain and Portugal respectively, with both teams reaching the knockouts as group winners after winning their first two games.

Nacho Fernandez and Cristiano Ronaldo were teammates at Real Madrid for seven seasons, winning titles galore, both in Spain and in the continent, carving out a niche for themselves.

In 117 games across competitions when the duo were together on the pitch for Los Blancos, they recorded one joint goal contribution, with the lone goal scored by Real Madrid's all-time top scorer off a Nacho assist.

During their spell together at the Santiago Bernabeu, they won two La Liga and four UEFA Champions League titles - including an unprecedented three on the trot - as Los Blancos became the team to beat, especially in Europe.

The duo could play in the same league after six years, with reports of Saudi Arabian clubs interested in Nacho's services as the Spanirad prepares to leave the Bernabeu.
