Neymar appears to make feelings clear about joining Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez during a recent commercial
Neymar has appeared to make his feelings clear about potentially joining Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami during a recent commercial. The three stars notably enjoyed a remarkable stint together at Barcelona before Neymar left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
While Suarez left Barca for Atletico Madrid in 2020, Messi left Camp Nou in 2021, reuniting with the Brazilian winger at PSG. Two years later, the Argentine icon decided to leave France and Europe entirely, opting for a switch to the MLS to play for Inter Miami. The Brazilian also had the same thoughts, leaving Europe in 2023, but for Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
Suarez returned to Uruguayan boyhood club Nacional in 2022, before playing for Brazilian outfit Gremio. A move to Inter Miami to play alongside Messi panned out in December 2023, and this has led to rumors about a potential reunion of the three players.
In a commercial that featured the trio for gaming giant Konami, Neymar played a game of E-Football with Messi and Suarez, rekindling their days at Barcelona. During the commercial, the Brazilian quipped, "I wish I was there too," which may allude to his feelings about joining the duo at Inter Miami.
Rumors surrounding his move away from Saudi Arabia have risen due to his injury troubles. Indeed, the Brazilian winger has struggled to enjoy his football in the Middle East.
Last season, he played just five games before injuries put him on the sidelines. This season, he has played just two games and picked up yet another injury.
Goalkeeping legend has picked Neymar over Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
Legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has picked Neymar as the best player he has ever seen in his career ahead of legends like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The Juventus icon spoke about some of the best players he ever played with or against, naming former players like Andres Iniesta.
He said in an interview with Corriere della Sera (via GOAL):
“I played with three generations, how can I choose? Zidane, Ronaldo, Messi, CR7, [Andres] Iniesta… But if I have to pick one I’d say Neymar. For the player and the boy he is, he should have won five Ballons d’Or!”
It is worth noting that the Brazilian winger finished on the Ballon d'Or podium twice - in 2015 and 2017. He was unable to get past Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, both of whom won a combined 13 Ballon d'Or awards.
