"Not a player that wins you the league", "So useless" - Fans slam Arsenal star for his showing in Gunners' 1-0 loss to Newcastle
Fans have taken to social media to slam Arsenal striker Kai Havertz for his poor showing in the Gunners' 1-0 loss to Newcastle United. The north London club were at St. James' Park for their Premier League clash of the weekend (November 2), but they failed to secure the three points.
While Arsenal did not play well, overall Havertz notably underperformed. He created just one chance on the day, but did not take any shots, despite being the Gunners' main striker on the pitch. The German also lost eight duels, with the Newcastle defense stifling him.
He completed the entire 90 minutes without impressing, picking up a yellow card late on for all his troubles. Fans took to social media platform X to slam him with comments like these:
"Nah bro idk how it goes amiss how shit Havertz is, it’s like no one makes a point of it," a fan said.
"He can’t dribble , he can’t pass , he can’t hold the ball up what does he even do," another fan added.
"He’s so bad no one can convince me he’s any good idc," a third agreed.
"Havertz is so useless," a fourth said.
"You are NEVER going to win a league title with Kai Havertz as your 9, I beg u clowns stop rating him now [thank you]," another fan warned.
"Havertz is not a player that wins you the league," a fan added.
"He’s a complete non entity in this game 😭😭😭😭" this fan complained.
"Havertz doesn't even do a thing btw. He just fouls people lmaoooo," a fan mocked.
"You’re not winning a Premier League title with “Havertz” as your main man. I’m sorry." another said.
Arsenal defender speaks about poor performance against Newcastle United
Arsenal defender William Saliba has spoken about the Gunners' poor performance against Newcastle United. The Frenchman returned to their starting lineup after a red card suspension in their 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend. However, his presence could not keep the Gunners from conceding a goal.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said (via football.london):
"We are all a bit sad because we wanted to win today. Unfortunately we didn't and we didn't play the game we wanted to play. We deserved to lose today I think. I think we didn't play how we wanted to play and they were good as well. It's OK, we are focused on the next week and it is not finished."
A early lone goal from Alexander Isak in the 12th minute was enough for the Magpies to secure all three points. Now, Arsenal sit in third place on the Premier League table, but they could potentially crash out of top four if other results go against them.
