Novak Djokovic makes strong statement by following Cristiano Ronaldo act at Olympics 2024

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic made a strong statement at the Olympics 2024 in Paris, just like Cristiano Ronaldo did a few years ago. Both athletes who have achieved so much in their respective sports are known for their supreme fitness and approaches to nutrition.

Djokovic, who is currently at the Olympics, was attending a press conference where he observed the presence of cola bottles. While others opted to let the cans remain, the 37-year-old decided to move them out in an attempt to stop the promotion of unhealthy drinks.

This reminded several fans of something that the Portuguese icon had done back in 2021. The incident took place when the 39-year-old Al-Nassr striker appeared at a press conference during the European Championships that year.

Before his nation faced Hungary in their opener of that competition, Ronaldo observed the presence of Coca-Cola bottles placed in front of him at the presser. Noticing this, he immediately moved them out of the frame of the camera and did not want to be associated with promoting the company's drinks.

He then raised a bottle of water and urged everybody listening to consume the natural liquid instead of cola. Ronaldo continues to battle on even at the age of 39, a testament to his incredible fitness.

Currently, the former Manchester United star is preparing for the start of the new Saudi Pro League season with Al-Nassr. They play their first league game against Al-Raed on August 22.

Novak Djokovic has seemingly copied Cristiano Ronaldo even before his bold statement at the Olympic Games. In March earlier this year, the Serbian was in action at the 2024 BNP Paribas Open, where he participated in a game of football along with other tennis stars.

After scoring a goal around Stefanos Tsitsipas' leg, Djokovic decided to pull out the Portugal international's iconic Siuuu celebration. Ronaldo has become synonymous with this move, and has several top-level athletes performing the celebration across sports.

Ronaldo may be spotted performing his trademark move when Al-Nassr take on Lusitano 1911 in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday (July 30). In their latest outing, where the Saudi Arabian side faced Porto, they were convincingly beaten 4-0 on Sunday (July 28).
