Liverpool fans have hailed Diogo Jota on X after he impressed in their 4-1 win against Sevilla in a friendly at Anfield (Sunday, August 11). The Reds have looked dominant in pre-season under Arne Slot, winning all four of their fixtures with wins against Real Betis (1-0), Arsenal (2-1), and Manchester United (3-0).

Diogo Jota broke the deadlock in the 30th minute, volleying Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross into the top-right corner. Jota then turned provider nine minutes later, setting up Diaz, who emphatically smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 2-0.

Diaz completed his brace in the first minute of stoppage time before half-time, tapping home Dominik Szoboszlai's pass. Peque Fernandez gave Sevilla hope with a brilliant curler in the 66th minute but Liverpool youngster Trey Nyoni found the bottom-right corner with a drilled finish to seal a 4-1 win for the Reds.

Jota impressed during his 90 minutes on the field, garnering a match rating of 8.1 by FotMob. He scored one goal, provided one assist, and created one big chance, looking threatening ahead of the new season.

How did Liverpool fare in their 4-1 pre-season win against Sevilla?

Arne Slot's perfect run as Liverpool's manager continued as he won his fourth pre-season friendly game in a row with a 4-1 win against La Liga outfit Sevilla. The Dutchman will be aiming to keep the momentum going in their Premier League opener against Ipswich Town on Saturday, August 17.

Liverpool dominated possession against Sevilla with 56 percent of the ball, completing 523 passes with an accuracy of 89 percent. In contrast, the Spanish club had 44 percent possession and completed 403 passes with an accuracy of 89 percent.

The Reds were also more dominant in attack, landing 12 shots in total with nine being on target. Sevilla managed to land eight shots in total but mustered just two shots on target.
