‘’One of the best guys about” - Chelsea star sends message to Djordje Petrovic as he leaves club after being deemed surplus to requirements

Chelsea third-choice goalkeeper, Marcus Bettinelli, has sent a farewell message to fellow goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, who recently left the club. Petrovic completed a season-long loan move from Chelsea to Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg on Deadline Day (August 30).

Following Petrovic’s departure from Chelsea on loan, Bettinelli took to Instagram to express his thoughts and wish his colleague the best. He wrote:

"One of the best guys about! Good luck brate and see you soon! The glue in the post (eye and love emoji) @dj.petrovic12"

The Blues faithful will be watching Petrovic’s progress with interest. The Serbian international did show that he has the potential to reach great heights despite making only a few appearances for the club.

Djordje Petrovic joined the Blues in 2023 from the New England Revolution. He broke into the starting XI under Mauricio Pochettino after first-choice shot-stopper Robert Sanchez missed a huge part of the season due to injury.

With the return of Sánchez to the squad and the club's acquisition of Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, Petrović has fallen down the pecking order. Consequently, he was loaned to RC Strasbourg for the duration of the season to gain regular playing time and further develop his experience.

The Serbian goalkeeper made 31 appearances across competitions for the Blues, keeping seven clean sheets and conceding 44 goals.

Chelsea have signed Manchester United winger on loan – Reports

As per multiple reports, Chelsea have completed the signing of out-of-favor Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on loan. This is coming after Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on a season-long loan after being exiled from the club’s first team. According to BBC, the deal includes an obligation for Chelsea to sign the England international for between £20-25 million next summer.

Sancho will arrive at Stamford Bridge, joining a long list of high-profile summer arrivals. It includes the likes of Joao Felix, Pedro Neto, Filip Jorgensen, and Kieran Dewsbury-Hall. Enzo Maresca is likely to use the England international on the left flank, Mykhailo Mudryk and Cristopher Nkunku have failed to impress as starters in the Blues' first two Premier League matches.

Despite returning to Manchester United after a six-month loan at Borussia Dortmund this summer, Sancho once again fell out of favor with Erik ten Hag. His only action so far this season was a brief appearance from the bench in the Community Shield.

The 24-year-old winger joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2023. He's scored 12 goals and provided six assists for the club in 83 games across competitions.
