"Only in Riyadh" - Cristiano Ronaldo makes social media post as Al Nassr star attends Fury-Usyk heavyweight boxing showdown

Cristiano Ronaldo was on the list of the VIP guests who attended the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh on Saturday (May 18). Other notable guests at the all-important boxing match included actor Liev Schreiber, boxing legends Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, Brazilian superstar Neymar, and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

The Portuguese legend recently posted pictures from the event on social media, in which he could be seen sitting alongside Anthony Joshua and Turki Alalshikh.

Ronaldo wrote in the caption:

"Only in Riyadh!"

The match was intense from the word go, and Usyk narrowly missed knocking Fury out in their heavyweight unification bout's last round. However, the referee gave Tyson Fury the standing 10-count, helping him recover.

Ultimately, Usyk won by a split decision and became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. However, the two boxers are contractually bound to a rematch, and the fight has been tentatively scheduled for October of this year.

While attending the boxing match, Cristiano Ronaldo bumped into famous boxing promoter Frank Warren, who is also a die-hard Arsenal fan. Warren asked Ronaldo who would win the Premier League before the final matchday on Sunday, May 19.

In reply, he didn't bother sugarcoating his opinion and predicted that Arsenal would not win the league.

"They (Arsenal) are not gonna win," predicted Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo was ultimately proven right after the last round of PL matches as Pep Guardiola's Manchester City lifted the Premier League for the fourth consecutive time. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal could only muster a second-place finish.

Manchester City were placed at 88 points, with Arsenal following them at 86 before the final matchday. Arsenal needed to win against Everton and pray for a Manchester City slip to stand a chance of winning the league. However, Pep's men just needed a win at the Etihad against West Ham United.

Both sides won their respective matches (Arsenal won 2-1 against Everton while Manchester City defeated West Ham 3-1), but Pep Guardiola's men were ultimately crowned champions of England for the sixth time in seven years.
