Paul Pogba set to be given chance to return to Manchester United and train with players, claims ex-Red Devils forward
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has stated that Paul Pogba has been offered the chance to train with the club. The French midfielder's four-year ban for the doping offense was recently reduced to 18 months after a successful appeal.
Pogba's contract with Juventus was terminated last month. He is free to join a new club in January, but can only resume his playing career in March.
Speaking to Casino Utan Spelpaus via Mirror, Saha insisted that Pogba will be thrilled to return to Manchester United.
"I've heard some rumors that Paul Pogba will be offered the opportunity to come back and train with Man Utd in the New Year, and I think that would be a great opportunity for Paul," said Saha.
He continued:
"He needs to get back to his best level as quickly as possible, and training with top players will help him to do that. I think he would be thrilled to have the opportunity to go back to the club."
Saha went on to advise the Red Devils to sign Pogba in January.
"When I look at Pogba, I think that many teams in the Premier League would find signing him as a free agent an attractive proposition. Forget about the salary, I’m sure Paul is ready to find a compromise on that as he wants to play football again after such a long time on the sidelines," said Saha.
He concluded:
"When I think about Pogba, there are more positives with signing him than there are negatives, and I think he’s a player that should interest Manchester United in January."
Paul Pogba left the Red Devils in the summer of 2022 as a free agent to return to Juventus. However, he managed just 203 minutes of first-team football in his second spell at Turin.
Will Manchester United reinforce their midfield in 2025?
Manchester United could be in the market for a new midfielder in 2025. Christian Eriksen's contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of this season and he hasn't signed a new deal yet.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has also blown hot and cold in recent times and his future remains up in the air. The Brazlian's contract with the Red Devils runs until 2026, but he is one of the highest earners at the club.
Manchester United could be tempted to let him go to free up their wage bill. Recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils have reignited their interest in Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong.
