Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright predict result of Arsenal vs Liverpool
Pundits Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright predicted the result of Arsenal's upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday (October 27). The Gunners are coming into this game on the back of a disappointing defeat against Bournemouth from the previous weekend (2-0, October 19).
On the other hand, the Reds have gotten off to a great start, sitting top of the league standings, four points clear of their upcoming opponents. Starting the conversation to predict the result for this significant tie, Neville said on the Stick to Football podcast (via Arsenal Insider):
"Here we go, this is the big one, the emotional one!”
The fitness of Bukayo Saka is still under question after he missed the north Londoners' last two matches across competitions. Claiming that the Gunners can produce a result if the England international is fit, Keane added:
“If Saka’s fit, Arsenal get a result.”
Wright then said:
“I’m going for a draw."
Agreeing with his colleague, Keane also went for a 1-1 scoreline. However, Scholes favored the away team and said:
“I fancy Liverpool.”
Finally, Neville thought the Gunners could come away victors and claimed:
“I’m going Arsenal, 2-1.”
Going into this fixture, Mikel Arteta has a fair few worries, particularly with regard to the fitness of his players. Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori, and Saka all remain doubtful to feature. Meanwhile, he will be without central defender William Saliba due to suspension after the Frenchman was sent off in the game against Bournemouth.
Manchester United legend makes title challenge claim ahead of Arsenal v Liverpool
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Liverpool will be a serious challenger to Manchester City for this season's Premier League title. He thinks that the Gunners have a worse squad than the Reds, which makes them less of a threat.
Currenlty, the Cityzens are sitting in second place on the league standings, only a point behind the Merseyside outfit after eight matches. Speaking on the Overlap, Scholes said (via Metro):
"I think Liverpool’s squad is better than Arsenal’s. I think Guardiola will be more worried about them than he is the Gunners."
Pointing out a key difference, Scholes added:
"They’ve got legs haven’t they, which is a big thing."
The north Londoners are currently without Martin Odegaard, which has put much of the responsibility on the shoulders of Declan Rice and Thomas Partey. Meanwhile, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai, among others, share the burden at Anfield.
