Pep Guardiola details plans for his future after Manchester City, reveals stance on managing another club after PL stint

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has provided an update about his managerial future. The Spanish tactician recently signed an extension on his existing agreement at the Etihad Stadium that could see him at the club till the summer of 2027.

He joined the Cityzens in 2016 and has won six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy, among other honors at the club. Claiming that he will not be managing another club after Manchester City in the near future, the former Bayern Munich coach told Dani Garcia (via Fabrizio Romano):

"I’m NOT gonna manage any other club after City. I’m not talking about the long-term future but what I’m not going to do is leave, go to another country, do the same thing as now. Maybe a national team, but that’s different."

Guardiola is now 53 years old and looking to secure a fifth straight English top-flight title this year. However, the Cityzens aren't in the best form. They are currently placed fourth in the league standings, eight points behind leaders Liverpool, who have played a game less.

So far, during his time in Manchester, Guardiola has remained in charge for 495 matches across competitions. He's won 361 of those ties, losing 72 and drawing 62.

While Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that the Cityzens will be the last club in the short term, he doesn't believe that his time in coaching will end. Rather, the Spaniard has pointed out that he would love to look back and reflect on his time with previous teams.

Guardiola also seemingly wishes to devote hours to learning new skills like cooking and playing other sports. Speaking about this, the ex-Barcelona boss said (via Mirror):

“I should stop, like these chefs that go to other countries, stop and see what we’ve done well and what we could do better and when you’re busy all day day after day you don’t have time to do that. I think stopping would do me good.”
“I’m still young and when I stop, there’s several things I want to do. One of them is to learn French, dedicate my free time to myself so I can play golf and then begin to learn how to cook simple things.”

Guardiola's team are next in action against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday (December 11). They're currently 17th in the standings, two points behind the top eight.
