"Plays like he's got drunk goggles on", "Can't keep defending this trash" - Manchester United fans want star sold despite Plzen win
Manchester United fans on X have criticized Marcus Rashford after he struggled to make an impact during their 2-1 win against Viktoria Plzen. The two sides locked horns in the UEFA Europa League at the Doosan Arena on Thursday, December 12.
The Red Devils failed to get going offensively in the first half, with the hosts defending well to limit them to an xG of just 0.20. To make matters worse, Andre Onana made a massive error by losing possession, which led to Viktoria Plzen taking the lead via Matej Vydra (48').
Marcus Rashford was poor during his 56 minutes on the pitch. The 27-year-old created zero chances, took zero shots, and lost two duels. Ruben Amorim subbed him off for Rasmus Hojlund, who scored a brilliant brace (62', 88') to hand Manchester United a nervy win.
Rashford has struggled for form this season, garnering seven goals and three assists in 24 appearances across competitions. One Manchester United fan wasn't impressed as they posted:
"We might as well sell Rashford in the January transfer window and invest in our attack ASAP cause what’s the point in keeping him until the end of the season? For vibes? Guy plays like he’s got drunk goggles on."
Another fan tweeted:
"I love you Rashford but we can’t keep defending this trash. You’re currently s**t."
Other fans reacted below:
"Rashford looks like someone who doesn’t want to be there," one fan commented
"Rashford gonna play himself out of a market," another added
"Love Rashford, but genuinely can't keep making excuses for him. Just too inconsistent and hardly looks a threat. Another poor half," one fan pointed out
"Every season, we say Rashford has forgotten how to play football yet he is still here, starting games," another chimed in
"Rashford is a major, major problem in this team now. His performance today (and the appearance v Arsenal) was nothing short of shocking. Can totally understand why United might be entertaining offers for him based on that," one fan tweeted
