“Portugal has no chance” “Looks solid” - Fans confident as France name trio together in line-up for first time at Euro 2024 ahead of QF clash
France fans on X are feeling confident after Didier Deschamps named his starting XI to face Portugal in the quarter-final at Euro 2024 later today (Friday, July 5). The French trio of Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and N'Golo Kante are also set to start together in midfield for the first time at Euro 2024. Adrien Rabiot misses out due to suspension.
Mike Maigan starts in goal for France. Jules Kounde, Dayot Upamecano, William Saliba, and Theo Hernandez make up the back four. The midfield consists of Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and N'Golo Kante, while Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, and Randal Kolo Muani start up front to complete the starting XI.
Kante has arguably been France's best player at Euro 2024 so far, showcasing his incredible work-rate and defensive prowess. The Real Madrid duo of Camavinga and Tchouameni will be aiming to nullify Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal as well.

How have France fared at Euro 2024 so far?
France will be aiming to reach the final four at Euro 2024 as they get set to face Portugal in the quarter-finals later today. They will be the statistical favorites as they have lost just one out of their last 14 games against A Selecao, winning 11, and drawing two.
However, they have failed to replicate the form they displayed during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where they finished as runners-up. Les Bleus have failed to score a single goal from open play, with their three goals coming from two own goals and a Kylian Mbappe penalty.
France finished second in Group D with five points from three games, behind Austria. They defeated the latter 1-0 in their opening game, before being held against the Netherlands (0-0) and Poland (1-1). Deschamps's side then faced Belgium in the Round of 16 where they scraped a 1-0 win thanks to Jan Vertonghen's 85th-minute own goal.
