Diogo Jota is reportedly doubtful for Portugal's Euro 2024 clash against Georgia having missed full training on Monday, June 24. Roberto Martinez's side will take on Georgia in their final group-stage game of the Euros (June 26) and will be looking for three wins in three games.
As reported by CNN Portugal via talkSPORT, the 27-year-old missed Monday's main session due to muscle fatigue. The Liverpool star did specific training alongside Nuno Mendes and Goncalo Ramos, as per the report.
Jota has been on the bench both games for Portugal in the Euros and came on as a substitute in their 2-1 win against Czechia. He was an unused substitute in the 3-0 win over Turkiye in the second game.
With Roberto Martinez's side having already ensured their qualification, we can expect some changes in the starting XI. Especially with Rafael Leao set to miss the match after receiving two yellow cards in the first two games for simulation, Jota could have been handed a start.
Jota enjoyed a pretty productive campaign for Liverpool last time out but had his struggles with injuries. He scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 32 appearances across competitions for Jurgen Klopp's side but missed 19 games.
Since his reported £41 million switch to Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020, Jota has been a key player for the Merseysiders. He boats a tally of 56 goals and 19 assists in 145 games but has endured persistent injury problems.
