Portugal star responds when asked if he believes Cristiano Ronaldo will feature for Portugal in the 2026 World Cup

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot voiced his opinion on whether Cristiano Ronaldo will be available for Portugal in the 2026 World Cup. He said to Portuguese outlet A Bola:

“When the time comes to end his career, he will be the first to want to do so, but he still has the ability to help Portugal and the club. That has been very clear in recent months.”

The 39-year-old continues to go strong for the Selecao. He has already reached the milestone of becoming the top scorer in the history of men's international football, bagging 132 goals in 214 games for the side.

However, Ronaldo had a difficult time in the 2024 Euros as Portugal suffered a disappointing exit in the quarter-finals stage. He played in all five games for Roberto Martinez's side but failed to find the back of the net in any of them. He provided one assist in the tournament.

Portugal will continue their Nations League campaign on October 12, facing off against Poland and Scotland in the upcoming international break. They currently lead Group 1 of League A with two wins from their two games.

Cristiano Ronaldo opens up after Al-Nassr's win over Al-Rayyan in AFC Champions League

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo insisted that his motive was to help his teammates become better and win trophies for his side. After Al-Nassr's 2-1 win over Qatari team Al-Rayyan on September 30, he said (via the BBC):

"It is not important anymore whether I am the best or not, I no longer care about that. It is good for a player to score goals, but for me it is better for the team to win.
"I am used to breaking records and I no longer look for them. The most important thing for me now is to enjoy and help Al-Nassr and my team-mates to win."

Cristiano Ronaldo tacked on another goal to his illustrious tally, taking him to 904 career goals for club and country. Following the goal, he pointed to the sky in an ode to his late father. Al-Nassr now have one win and one draw from their first two games in the AFC Champions League.

Stefano Pioli's side will be hoping that Ronaldo continues to be in form as he searches for his first piece of silverware since making the move to Saudi Arabia. Their upcoming clash is against Al-Orobah in the Saudi Pro League on October 5 ahead of the international break.
