"Probably the most underrated player in the world" - Owen Hargreaves makes claim about Real Madrid star ahead of UEFA Super Cup

Ahead of Real Madrid's UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta BC on Wednesday, August 14, Owen Hargreaves claimed that Dani Caravajal is probably the most underrated player in the world. Los Blancos secured a 2-0 win in the final contested at National Stadium Warsaw in Poland.

Speaking about the 32-year-old Spaniard, former Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves said (via @MadridXtra on X):

"Carvajal is probably the most underrated player in the world."

Caravajal is one of the most decorated players in Real Madrid's history. He has won four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, four Supercopas de España, six UEFA Champions League titles, five UEFA Super Cup, and five FIFA Club World Cups.

The Spanish right-back has also made 49 appearances for La Roja, helping them win the 2024 European Championships. During his ongoing 11-year tenure at Los Blancos, Dani Carvajal netted 13 goals and provided 64 assists in 417 appearances across all competitions.

Caravajal's contributions often get overlooked due to the presence of superstar attackers and midfielders in the Real Madrid squad, but he has been influential to their success over the past decade. Former Los Blancos forward James Rodriguez even stated that Caravajal should win the 2024 Ballon d'Or award.
