“Psycho” - Manchester United target slams fan who set up fake account in his name and tweeted he doesn’t want Red Devils move
Manchester United target Leny Yoro has slammed a fan who set up a fake X account in his name and claimed that the defender didn't want a move to Old Trafford. Yoro, currently at LOSC Lille, has emerged as one of the best young defenders in European football. He is sought by top clubs like Real Madrid, United, and others.
Amid speculation over his future, a handle pretending to be Yoro tweeted:
"I don't want you @ManUtd. Leave me alone."
It has become a social media trend for fans to pretend to be professional players on multiple platforms. Yoro, though, hit back on X (formerly Twitter) by quoting the fake tweet and writing:
"Fake account. You guys are psycho. Signal this account."
Leny Yoro had an exceptional 2023-24 season with Lille and helped the Ligue 1 club keep 17 clean sheets in 35 matches across competitions. The 18-year-old is already valued at €50 million by Transfermarkt.
Manchester United have reportedly thrown their hat in the race for Yoro after being barred from signing Jean Clair-Todibo from OGC Nice. Real Madrid, though, are the front runners in the transfer race, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Nabil Djellit, however, has reported that Lille have accepted a £42 million bid from United for Yoro.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Real Madrid's stance on Manchester United target Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro's current deal with LOSC Lille will expire at the end of the 2024-25 season. As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are happy to wait until January 2025 rather than sign Yoro this summer.
Romano claimed that Los Blancos are confident that the player wants a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. He further added that Real Madrid would conclude a summer deal only if it is on their terms and the transfer fee is much lower than €50- 60 million.
Otherwise, the Madrid giants would conclude a January move only and sign him as a free agent. Romano recently confirmed this information to GiveMeSport. The transfer expert's claim could be a massive blow to Manchester United's hopes of signing Yoro.
Apart from Yoro, the Red Devils have also been heavily linked with a summer move for Bayern Munich superstar Matthijs de Ligt.
