"Ramos of our team", "Good decision" - Fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate signs new deal with the club

Al-Nassr fans are delighted to see Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate Abdulelah Al-Amri put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with the Saudi Pro League giants.

Al-Amri, 26, has been a mainstay in Luis Castro's side this season, making 14 appearances across competitions. He's helped Al-Alami keep four clean sheets and has chipped in with one goal.

The Saudi Arabian defender's fine performances have seen him rewarded with a new long-term contract. He's forged a formidable partnership with summer signing Aymeric Laporte at the heart of the defense.

Al-Amri's previous deal was set to expire next summer but Al-Nassr have moved to tie him down to a new contract. He's also become a regular member of Saudi Arabia's national team during his spell at KSU Stadium, earning 22 caps.

Faris Najd have assembled a strong squad since Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival in January. Laporte, Sadio Mane, and Alex Telles have followed him to the Saudi Pro League.

However, Al-Nassr still possesses several long-term players including Al-Amri. He's been with the club since his youth days, although he did spend a season on loan at Al-Wehda in 2018-2019.

One fan compared the Saudi defender to Cristiano Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos:

"Ramos of our team...hope he don't get injured again."

Another fan was thrilled with Al-Alami's decision to hand him a new contract:

"Good decision."

Here's how fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to the news that Al-Amri has extended his stay at KSU Stadium:

According to The Independent (via Geo News), Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is the subject of interest from Al-Nassr. The Red Devils are open to offers for the Brazilian, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho in January.

Casemiro, 31, joined United from Real Madrid in August 2022 for €70.6 million. He reunited with Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford after previously playing with him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The veteran midfielder enjoyed an excellent debut season with Erik ten Hag's side. He scored seven goals and provided six assists in 51 games across competitions.

However, a lack of form mixed with injury issues have plagued his sophomore campaign at Old Trafford. He could be set for a departure and the Saudi Pro League could be his destination.

Al-Nassr are interested and could look to once again have Ronaldo link up with the Brazil international. But, they face competition from rivals Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli. Casemiro has three years left on his contract with United.
