"Reaction d'Or", "Disrespectful to the opponent" - Fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo's reaction to Portugal's winning goal in Euro 2024 clash goes viral
Fans have reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo's celebration after Portugal found the winning goal in their EURO 2024 opener against Czechia on Tuesday (June 18). The legendary forward did not get on the scoresheet on the night, but he stayed on for the entire 90 minutes to help Selecao das Quinas gain a 2-1 victory.
Portugal required a late goal (90+2') from Porto winger Francisco Conceicao, who scored on his competitive debut for his country. He had played two friendlies, where he provided three assists. This time, though, the 21-year-old was trusted by his manager to see off the final moments of their opening EURO 2024 game, and he came through for Selecao with a late winner.
Cristiano Ronaldo was thrilled about his team winning, and he celebrated with his fist toward the opposition goalkeeper as he ran in jubilation. Fans took to social media to react to the legendary player's actions.
"my goat was pissed off when the GK was saving his shots ðŸ˜ðŸ˜" a fan laughed.
"Disrespectful to the opponent," a fan warned.
"REACTION D’OR," another mocked Ronaldo.
"That’s all he can do but he cannot score," another added to the mockery.
"Others are scoring. He’s celebrating," added a fan.
"He is a little bit proud," a fan said.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal win 2-1 against Czechia at EURO 2024
Czechia opened the scoring against Portugal in the 62nd minute. It had been total domination from Selecao das Quinas, but they failed to capitalize on their possession of the ball.
The first half came and went without goals from either side, but it was Lukas Provod who opened the scoring for Czechia. The Slavia Prague midfielder's curler was enough to put some life in the game, with the underdogs believing they could potentially secure the win.
However, Portugal's equalizer came just minutes later (69') from an own goal. They actively hounded their opponents and forced them into mistakes, with Robin Hranac putting the ball into his own net.
The decisive moment that saw the game through was Chico Conceicao's effort late in injury time (90+2'). This victory has now set Cristiano Ronaldo's side in a strong position in their group, as they will need just one more victory to proceed to the EURO 2024 knockout stages.
