Real Madrid ace Endrick linked with a surprise move to Premier League club: Reports
Real Madrid youngster Endrick has been linked with a shock move to Premier League side Southampton by English publication The Sun. The Brazil international hasn't had enough game time since completing his switch to the 16-time European champions in the summer, leading to talks of a loan move.
Endrick was reportedly courted by several sides, including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), but signed with Real Madrid at the age of 16 after making a name for himself in Palmeiras' youth ranks. The striker went on to represent the senior side, winning two league titles with them before moving to Spain this summer after he turned 18.
Real Madrid have some of the biggest names in world football, and Endrick finds himself behind Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in the pecking order. The Sun reports that Southampton are looking to offer the 18-year-old a path to more game time through a loan spell.
Endrick enjoyed a dream start to life at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring on his LaLiga and UEFA Champions League debuts. The teenage star became the club's youngest-ever goalscorer in the Champions League as well. With the club struggling in recent weeks, the young striker has gradually seen his minutes dry up, playing only 15 minutes as a substitute in their last six games.
Newly-promoted Southampton are rock-bottom in the Premier League with just four points from their opening 11 games in the top flight. With only seven goals scored, their interest in Endrick is understandable due to his quality in front of goal. The teenager also has three goals in 13 games for Brazil.
Real Madrid star scores as Uruguay and Brazil play out stalemate
Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde was on the scoresheet for Uruguay as they held Brazil to a 1-1 draw in their CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifier. With the win, they moved up to second place in the table with 20 points, five fewer than leaders Argentina and two more than Brazil.
Valverde's Los Blancos teammate, Vinicius Jr was part of the Brazil starting XI, but it was Valverde who opened the scoring in the 55th minute. He curled an effort into the bottom corner for the game's opener, but Gerson's strike ensured that the spoils were shared.
Brazil were without Real Madrid stars Rodrygo and Eder Militao through injury, and youngster Endrick was left out due to poor game time. The Selecao drew both of their games in the final international break of 2024.
