Real Madrid ace Kylian Mbappe makes big decision on playing for France as he expresses strong desire to win 2025 Ballon d’Or: Report
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has his eyes set on winning the 2025 Ballon d'Or. He has reportedly asked to be invited to the national team for only the most important matches.
According to journalist Santi Auona (via MadridXtra on X), the Frenchman wants to win the Ballon d'Or next year. He plans to avoid any injury risk that could come up especially while on international duty.
Mbbape has been one of the best footballers in the world for the last couple of years. Since bursting onto the scene in 2015 at Monaco, it was clear that the 25-year-old was destined to be one of the sport's finest. He moved to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2017, initially on loan, and became their all-time top scorer. He established himself as one of the finest attackers in Europe, registering an impressive 256 goals and 108 assists in 308 games for the French club.
However, despite winning a plethora of domestic titles with PSG, Mbappe failed to win the UEFA Champions League which also hampered his chances of claiming the prestigious Ballon d'Or. His best finish at the award was third place behind Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland in 2023.
The hunger for the only two major honors missing in his cabinet forced the Frenchman to run down his contract at PSG. He eventually signed for Real Madrid on a free contract in the summer.
Now, according to reports, he is determined to succeed with the Spanish giants which could increase his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or. Kylian Mbappe's Real Madrid career has started on a bright note. He scored on his debut against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup and has so far registered seven goals and an assist in 11 outings across competitions.
