Real Madrid-bound Endrick explains reason why he idolises Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid bound Endrick has stated that he idolises club legend Cristiano Ronaldo. He believes that the Portuguese star is the best example of a player that combines the best of everything.

Speaking to TyC Sports, Endrick has stated that he looks up to Ronaldo and wants to follow the Al Nassr star's path to success. He told the Argentine media:

"[He is] an example of a player that combines the best of everything."

It is not the first time that Endrick has made his thoughts about Cristiano Ronaldo in public. He wrote a letter to his brother on The Players' Tribune and stated that he learnt a lot watching the former Manchester United star on YouTube.

He stated the Porrtuguese star taught him about hard work and wrote:

"You can learn anything on YouTube. It's like a university. More than anyone, I watched Cristiano. Not just his highlights, but also how hard he worked, and what others said about his mentality. From him, I learned that hard work is more important than talent. One day, I hope to meet him. I still haven't yet, as I am writing this. But his son follows me on Instagram, so I hope that by the time you are reading this I have been able to shake his hand."

Cristiano Ronaldo played 438 matches for Real Madrid and managed to score 450 times for them. He added 131 assists before leaving for Juventus. He left Italy to return to Old Trafford before joining Al Nassr in Saudi Pro League after mutually terminating his contract with Manchester United.

Real Madrid's Endrick does not think Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT

While Endrick looks up to Cristiano Ronaldo and wants to follow the former Real Madrid star's path, he does not think the Portuguese star is the Greatest Of All Time. He believes Pele remains the undisputed best and told the media via GOAL:

"For me, he is the king. There is no one who comes close to being compared to him. I thank God that he existed."

However, he was not happy with the comparisons with the Brazilian great and added:

"You create things of your own. You create crazy things. When I was younger, I watched a lot of social media. You guys keep comparing me to Victor Roque, to Pele. You guys are crazy. Pele was Pele. You shouldn't compare anyone, because for me that's ugly. Everyone has their own story, they know where they came from, they know what they have to go through to be able to play. And you want to compare player to player. Just let the story make the story."

Endrick is set to play for Brazil at the Copa America this summer. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo will be captaining Portugal at the EURO 2024.
