Real Madrid very close to signing new midfielder in €25 million transfer: Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly closing in on the signing of teenage sensation Franco Mastantuono from River Plate for €25 million this summer. Los Blancos are keen to keep targeting the best young talent in football, with particular interest in South American teenagers.

Argentine midfielder Mastantuono has emerged as one of the most sought-after young players this summer as a result of his quality displays for River Plate. Still only 16 years old, the attacking midfielder has played 18 times for the Argentine giants this season, with two goals and an assist to his name.

Real Madrid are not the only club looking to sign the youngster, as Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the 2007-born talent. The European champions are, however, nearing a deal for the teenage sensation, as per journalist Jose Felix Diaz.

The Spanish giants are reportedly prepared to offer up to €25 million to sign the talented midfielder.

Los Blancos don't want to miss out on elite talents, and Mastantuono falls into this category based on what he has shown so far. Playing under former Argentine centre-back Martin Demichelis, the youngster has become a regular for his club this year.

As they did with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Endrick in the past, Real Madrid are willing to sign Mastantuono to a contract which will see him join them at 18. Carlo Ancelotti's side have used this format multiple times with success in the past, and are keen to continue the model.

Spanish striker set to leave Real Madrid for Middle Eastern club - Reports

Spanish striker Joselu has reportedly decided to leave Real Madrid this summer and move to Qatar after Euro 2024. The veteran striker enjoyed a fruitful spell on loan at the Santiago Bernabeu, winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles.

Joselu spent 2023-24 on loan from Espanol at Los Blancos and scored 17 goals in 18 starts for the club. They were keen on signing him permanently for €1.5 million. The 34-year-old has, however, communicated his desire to move to Al-Gharafa, as per The Athletic, who have sent him a contract proposal.

Real Madrid may choose to sign Joselu and then sell him for the same price or completely put an end to plans to sign him permanently. This will allow Espanyol to solely control the transfer of their player to Qatar.
