Real Madrid dealt two major injury blows following UEFA Champions League defeat against Liverpool: Reports

Real Madrid have been handed two more injury blows following their Liverpool game. Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz were confirmed to have picked up minor issues in the game. The two midfielders played all 90 minutes as Los Blancos slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday, November 27.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have had a wretched luck with injuries this season. The Spanish giants welcomed the duo of Lucas Vazquez and Ferland Mendy for the game but lost Eduardo Camavinga to injury in the second half.

Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez has now claimed Bellingham and Brahim Diaz also picked up minor injuries. It is still unclear when the duo will return to full fitness.

Bellingham and Diaz have already had spells on the sidelines for Los Blancos earlier this season. Morocco international Diaz missed eight games due to a hamstring injury this season. He has so far made 11 appearances across all competitions for them.

Bellingham, on the other hand, has been absent for six games through injury, making 15 appearances so far this season.

Real Madrid are already without the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Aurelien Tchouameni, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Eder Militao, and youngster Joan Martinez.

Real Madrid's Champions League season in jeopardy after disappointing defeat to Liverpool

Real Madrid find themselves in a precarious position in the UEFA Champions League after their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in their group stage clash at Anfield. Los Blancos suffered their first defeat to the Reds since 2009 as Arne Slot's side kept their place atop the standings.

Liverpool scored twice in the second half of the encounter through Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo despite Mohamed Salah missing a penalty in the second period. Real Madrid struggled throughout the clash, with star forward Kylian Mbappe also seeing a penalty saved by Caoimhin Kelleher.

The reigning champions have now picked up just six points from their opening five games, losing three, to sit in 24th place in the competition. They will face Atalanta, RB Salzburg, and Brest in their remaining three games of the group stage.
