Real Madrid defender linked with surprise move to Premier League side Bournemouth: Reports

Real Madrid star Fran Garcia has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Bournemouth keen on signing him, as per reports in Relevo. The Spanish left-back has emerged as a transfer target for the English side, who are keen to further strengthen their squad in 2025.

Bournemouth have been ambitious in their recruitment in recent transfer windows, appointing highly rated Spanish manager Andoni Iraola in the summer of 2023 to kickstart their project. They have also signed players from Chelsea, Barcelona, and FC Porto in recent years.

The Cherries are now set to turn their attention to Real Madrid star Fran Garcia as they look to sign a new left-back. With growing interest in Milos Kerkez, Iraola's side may be unable to hold on to the Hungarian left-back for much longer, and they are prepared to sign a replacement.

Garcia is well-known to Iraola, with the pair having worked together at Rayo Vallecano before the left-back signed for Real Madrid. The 25-year-old defender has largely played a back-up role at the Santiago Bernabeu and will be interested in getting more game time in the Premier League.

Los Blancos may be eager to sanction a move for Garcia, as this will allow them to complete a move for long-term target Alphonso Davies. With the Canadian superstar set to be available for free in the summer, his potential move will hinge on the future of Garcia, considering that Ferland Mendy has just extended his contract.

The Spanish outfit defeated Borussia Dortmund in the final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2023-24 season to reach the competition.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are placed in Group H, and will begin their campaign against Saudi giants Al-Hilal on a yet-to-be-determined date. Both sides faced each other in the final of the competition in 2022, with the Spanish giants claiming a 5-3 win on the occasion.
