Real Madrid’s calendar is too tight to accommodate rescheduled Valancia clash – Reports
The Spanish Football Federation RFEF has postponed Real Madrid’s La Liga clash with Valencia, which was scheduled to played at the Mestalla Stadium on November 2.
Following the postponement, La Liga are expected to provide the Spanish Football Federation with the rescheduled date for the fixture. However, given Los Blancos' congested schedule, they might not be able to play the match until the end of the season.
According to Diario AS, Real Madrid’s calendar is too congested to accommodate any more fixtures for the club. Apart from La Liga, Ancelotti’s men are currently competing in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League. They have other competitions such as the Supercopa de Espana, Intercontinental Cup, and Club World Cup coming up.
If Carlo Ancelotti's men play the maximum number of possible games this season, their first vancancy will arrive between May 19th and 25th, the final week of the 2024-25 La Liga campaign.
If Real Madrid finish in the top eight of the UEFA Champions League group phase, they will have a slot available on the February 11, 12, 18, and 19. However, if they finish between ninth and 24th in the UCL, they will have to play a two-legged play-off on those dates.
Los Blancos will travel to Qatar in December for the Intercontinental Cup and then play the Copa del Rey and Superopa de Espana matches early in January. Their only recourse at the moment is to play the match on January 2, denying the players' New Year's vacation.
