Real Madrid eye move for Brazilian defender after missing out on Leny Yoro to Manchester United - Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to make a move to sign Brazilian defender Vitor Reis this summer. The Palmeiras youngster has emerged as a target for the European champions, who are fans of his rapid development in Brazil.

Palmeiras are blessed with a good squad that has led to successive Brasileirao Serie A titles in 2022 and 2023. A lot of the success has been due to the quality of their academy set-up, which has provided them with quality players to compete with the league's finest.

Real Madrid seemingly believe in the quality of the Palmeiras production line as they splashed the cash (reportedly €60 million) on a 16-year-old Endrick in 2022. Chelsea also did the same this summer, potentially paying up to €55 million to sign 17-year-old Estevao Willian from the Brazilian club.

According to Fichajes, Los Blancos are eyeing Vitor Reis as an addition to their squad this summer after his emergence on the Palmeiras scene. The 18-year-old centre-back has become a target for the Spanish giants despite having a reported €100 million release clause.

Real Madrid missed out on the signing of Leny Yoro this summer after he chose to join Manchester United instead. Carlo Ancelotti's side intended to have 16-year-old academy star Joan Martinez in the first-team set-up this season, but the teenager ruptured his ACL in training.

With Nacho having departed and David Alaba still out injured, Real Madrid find themselves in need of defensive reinforcements. A move for Reis would be a great risk, given that the defender has never before played in Europe or at as high a level as the La Liga.

Vitor Reis is a rising star at Palmeiras, making 11 appearances across competitions for the club and scoring twice. A right-footed centre-back, the youngster has demonstrated great composure on the ball while also showing great maturity in his defending.

Reis captained Brazil's U-17 side to glory in the South American championship in 2023. The teenage star will have a huge leap to make if Real Madrid end up signing him this summer.

Al-Ahli set to make a mammoth offer for Real Madrid star - Reports

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ahli are prepared to make Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr the most expensive player in football history this summer, as per Diario AS. The Saudi side are keen on the Ballon d'Or contender as they look to challenge for the Saudi League title.

Reports (via Football Espana) emerged of Al-Ahli offering the 24-year-old a contract worth €1 billion until 2029, the biggest contract in football history. The latest reports now indicate that they are prepared to pay up to €400 million to sign the Brazilian, which would see them shatter Neymar's world record of €222 million switch from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

Vinicius Jr has a €1 billion release clause in his Real Madrid contract and is unlikely to make a move to the Gulf nation yet. The Brazilian star is being looked at to replace Allan Saint-Maximin, who left Al-Ahli for Fenerbahce this summer.
