Real Madrid formulate new strategy to sign €60 million rated star, player keen on move to Los Blancos - Reports
Real Madrid are prepared to adopt a new strategy to complete the signing of talented 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille. Los Blancos have been left frustrated by the demands of the Ligue 1 side, and the teenage centre-back is keen on a move to the club.
France U-23 international Yoro has emerged as a transfer target for multiple clubs in Europe after a stellar season in Ligue 1. Besides Los Blancos, the teenage sensation is reportedly on the radar of Liverpool, PSG, and Manchester United.
Real Madrid have made the 18-year-old their primary defensive target this summer. Los Blancos have held talks with Lille over the transfer of the youngster, but the French club are unwilling to budge on their valuation.
According to Madrid Universal, Real Madrid have offered €40 million for the youngster, whose contract is set to expire in 2025, but Lille want €60 million for his signature. Carlo Ancelotti's side are not prepared to pay that much and have decided to change their strategy to sign the defender.
Diario AS have reported that Los Blancos will leave their offer on the table and see if Lille accept their terms or risk losing him as a free agent next year. They believe they are best-placed to sign him if he decides to spend the final year of his contract in France.
Real Madrid struggled with injuries in the centre-back position in 2023-24, with Eder Militao and David Alaba suffering long-term injuries. With Nacho also set to leave the club for Saudi outfit Al-Qadsiah, Los Blancos are definitely interested in defensive reinforcements this summer.
Real Madrid set to sanction move for talented defender - Reports
According to Matteo Moretto, Real Madrid will allow academy graduate Rafa Marin to join Serie A giants Napoli this summer. Los Blancos are in the final stages of their negotiations with the Italian side for the 22-year-old centre-back.
Following an impressive loan spell at Deportivo Alaves, many expected Rafa Marin to serve as Nacho's replacement in the 2024-25 season. However, the Spaniard seems set to join Antonio Conte at Napoli.
Real Madrid will reportedly receive around €15 million for the defender, and will insert a buyback clause worth double that amount in his contract. Talks are believed to be nearing their conclusion as his agents are preparing the necessary documentation with both clubs for the defender.
