Real Madrid handed blow as attacker limps off with injury during clash against Sociedad

Real Madrid have suffered a fresh injury blow as striker Brahim Diaz was forced off the pitch in their clash with Real Sociedad on Saturday, September 14. The 25-year-old was subbed off in the 24th minute after going down with what looked like a muscle injury.

Diaz was named alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vincius Jr in Los Blancos' starting XI against Real Sociedad in La Liga at the Anoeta Stadium. However around the 22nd minute with the scoreline still goalless, the Moroccan was spotted clutching his thighs as he went to the ground.

The former AC Milan star was then taken off the pitch and Rodrygo brought on in his stead. Diaz was making just his second league start of the campaign. The Spain-born forward has appeared in all five league games for Lon Blancos this term, but three appearances have been from the bench.

He has one goal and an assist to his belt, both of which came on matchday two in Real Madrid's 3-0 victory over Real Valladolid. This injury is another major setback for Carlo Ancelotti's side who have a host of notable names on their injury list.

The defending league champions are in search of their third win of the season and will hope to close the gap on league leaders Barcelona.

Brahim Diaz joins list of injured Real Madrid stars

Brahim Daiz joined the list of injured players at Real Madrid after picking up a knock against Real Sociedad. The forward was taken off the encounter in the first half with an apparent muscle injury.

Los Blancos currently have as many as six first-team players sidelined with injuries. Defender David Alaba has been out since last season with a cruciate ligament injury. Eduardo Camavinga sustained a knee injury just before the side's UEFA Super Cup clash with Atlanta at the start of the season.

Midfielders Jude Bellingham and Dani Ceballos also out with injuries. The Englishman picked a muscular injury in his right leg last month, while the Spaniard is out with a sprained ankle. Frenchman Aurelien Tchouameni is still recovering from a foot injury.
