Real Madrid icon Sergio Ramos in talks with ex-Barcelona star over transfer to join surprise club: Reports
Real Madrid icon Sergio Ramos is in talks with ex-Barcelona star Juan Roman Riquelme over a move to Argentine side, Boca Juniors, according to a report by Relevo. The Spaniard is currently without a club after leaving Sevilla in the summer.
Ramos spent 16 years with Los Blancos after he joined the Madrid-based side from Sevilla in 2005 for a reported €27 million fee. He played 671 games for the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners, scoring 101 goals and providing 40 assists to help the team to four Champions League and FIFA Club World Cups titles each, five LaLiga titles, three UEFA Super Cups, and two Copa del Rey titles.
The World Cup-winning defender is now set to embark on a South American adventure at the age of 38 years. Former Barcelona star Juan Roman Riquelme, now Boca Juniors President reportedly hoping to bring him to La Bombanera. The Argentine side is currently managed by former Real Madrid star Fernando Gago.

Barcelona defender Pau Curbasi has revealed that he was not surprised with Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior not winning the Ballon d'Or. The Brazillian was expected to win the award in Paris after his fine campaign for Los Blancos in the previous campaign.
The Brazilian icon bagged an impressive 24 goals and 11 assists from 39 games to help his side to LaLiga and UEFA Champions League glory. However, he came second to Manchester City's Rodri in the race for the 2024 edition of the award.
Curbasi revealed that the result did not surprise him, telling RAC1 via FotMob:
"I was not surprised that Vinicius did not win, he was very even with Rodri, Being among the top 10 or top 20 of the Ballon d'Or is already a good prize and it is important for a footballer to be there,"
The young defender concluded by criticizing Real Madrid's decision to boycott the event, saying:
"Dani Olmo and I were there and we didn't win."
Pau Curbasi and Barcelona have been imperious this season and currently sit on top of the Spanish top flight with a six-point lead over their eternal rivals, Real Madrid after they battered them 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu last week. They next face crosstown rivals Espanyol on Sunday, November 3, in LaLiga.
