Real Madrid keeping tabs on 23-year-old Premier League star viewed as long-term transfer target: Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur's Micky van de Ven in the next summer transfer window, as per Fichajes.

Los Blancos are in hunt for central defenders as former Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger will turn 32 and Austria's David Alaba will be 33 at the start of the next season. As a result, Carlo Ancelotti's side have shortlisted Dutch defender Micky van de Ven as Eder Militao's potential long-term partner.

The Dutch defender signed a six-year deal with the Lilywhites in August 2023 for a reported Initial transfer fee of £34 million from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg. Since then, the 21-year-old has played 36 matches for Tottenham, bagging three goals and two assists across all competitions.

Micky van de Ven still have four and a half year remaining on his contract at the North London club. However, if the transfer takes place, it would be a huge investment for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.

During the 2024 summer transfer window, the La Liga giants were heavily linked with Tottenham's Cristian Romero. Other than three Argentine defender, they were reportedly also in talks with Leny Yoro, who later penned a deal with Erik ten Hag's Manchester United. Interestingly, as per TEAMtalk, they also have Arsenal's William Saliba on their transfer radar.

Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal undergoes successful surgery for ACL injury

Real Madrid have confirmed that Spanish defender Dani Carvajal has underwent a successful surgery for his ACL injury. Carvajal suffered the injury somewhere during Madrid's 2-0 win over Villarreal on October 6, Sunday.

Later, it was announced that Spanish defender has been ruled out for the entire season. The official club statement read:

"Our player Dani Carvajal has undergone successful surgery today for a torn anterior cruciate ligament and posteroexternal instability in his right knee, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Carvajal will begin his recovery process in the coming days."

The 32-year-old made 11 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's side across all competitions, bagging one goal and assist each. In addition to that, he also captained the side during Madrid's UEFA Champions League matches against VfB Stuttgart and LOSC Lille.

Los Blancos are also linked with Liverpool's Trent Alexander Arnold as Dani Carvajal's replacement in the next summer transfer window.
