Real Madrid linked defender ready to listen to transfer offer from Manchester United: Reports

Manchester United supporters are sure to jump in joy when they get to know that Alphonso Davies is keen on listening to transfer offers from the club. The Bayern Munich defender, who has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, comes to the end of his contract next summer. He can, therefore, sign a pre-contract in January.

According to Football Espana, Bayern Munich feel that the Canadian's wage demands of net EUR 10M are too high. Therefore, they are unwilling to negotiate with him regarding an extension to his ongoing contract. While Madrid have an advantage, Davies could listen to the Red Devils if they match their offer.

Madrid already lost out on signing Leny Yoro to Manchester United earlier this year, and will be disappointed if the same happens with Davies. The latter is guaranteed to be a starter at United if he chooses to come. INEOS, however, will have to offer him an extremely attractive wage packet and good terms.

Football Espana have also mentioned that Barcelona have reached out to Davies' agent, although the latter had already agreed to terms with Madrid in March. Now, it appears as if the Canadian has set his heart on going to Spain's capital, but United's offer can lure him away if it contains everything he wants.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have a sporting relationship regarding transfers

Manchester United and Real Madrid have a sporting relationship with each other when it comes to transfers. The two clubs have done a lot of business in the past, the biggest of which was perhaps the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu from Old Trafford. David Beckham's too is a similar case.

At the moment, Madrid are ranked second in the La Liga table, closely shadowing Barcelona with 21 points inside their kitty. United, however, are perched at the 14th spot of the EPL table with just eight points to their name. The Red Devils have conceded eight goals to the five they have scored this season.

Davies' inclusion will add a lot of heft to United's defense, and allow them to build a team that plays balls out from the back. The left-back is known for his piercing runs down the flank and helping out his attackers in times of need. At the same time, his ability to track back and mark his opponents is highly acclaimed.
