Real Madrid and Manchester United target could play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in SPL after fresh transfer twist: Reports

Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, who has been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid, could potentially join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League. Davies' contract with Bayern is set to expire at the end of the season, with several Saudi Pro League teams reportedly targeting his signature.

Davies joined Bayern Munich in January 2019 and has since established himself as a key player for the club. Over the past six years, he has made more than 200 appearances for the German giants.

However, with his contract set to end next June, several top European clubs, including Real Madrid, have been pursuing him for some time. Real Madrid reportedly want to sign Davies as a free agent next summer.

According to Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg, Saudi Arabian clubs have also expressed their interest in Davies, particularly during the summer. He mentioned Al-Ahli, rather than Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, as one of the teams that were keen on signing the full-back.

"In recent months, especially during the summer, clubs from Saudi Arabia have shown strong interest in Alphonso Davies. They made inquiries and held discussions. Even Al-Ahli was involved. However, a transfer never materialized," Plettenberg said (via Tribal Football).

Plettenberg also stated that Bayern Munich are actively working on securing a new deal for Davies. He further reported that there is optimism within the club that the defender will remain in Germany next season.

“FC Bayern are working hard on extending his contract beyond 2025 and are optimistic about finalizing it soon. Davies is set to be developed into one of the faces of the club,” he added.

Despite uncertainties surrounding his future at Bayern, Davies has been a key player under Vincent Kompany this season. The Canadian has made 20 appearances across all competitions so far.

However, he is expected to miss the remainder of the year due to a hamstring injury sustained during Bayern’s 4-2 victory over FC Heidenheim.

Bayern Munich President shares update on Alphonso Davies’ future amid Real Madrid and Manchester United links

In addition to Davies, questions have also been raised about the futures of Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich. Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer addressed the futures of these players.

Amid numerous rumors linking all three players with moves away from the club, Hainer expressed his ambition to retain them, citing their importance to Bayern’s next generation.

"Three different stories, three different paths - and three players who grew up here in Munich. We’ve had Beckenbauer, Hoeneß, Rummenigge, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Müller and Neuer. Now Jamal, Jo and Phonzy should also join these ranks - and set guardrails for the next generations, on and off the pitch," he said (via Bavarian Football Works).

For now, Bayern and their players will remain focused on the Bundesliga, where they currently hold a six-point lead over second-placed Eintracht Frankfurt.

Their next clash will be against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday, December 10, followed by an away game against FC Mainz on Saturday, December 14.
