Real Madrid star Antonio Rudiger’s hilarious reaction to Barcelona losing against Leganes caught on camera
Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger was recently caught on camera, joking about Barcelona's LaLiga loss to Leganes. Hansi Flicks side's suffered a shocking 1-0 home defeat to Los Pepinero in the league on Sunday, December 15.
This was the Bluagrana's fourth league loss of the season. Leganes defender Sergio Gonzalez headed home off a corner in the fourth minute to give his side the lead. Despite controlling the game and having 80% possession, Flick's men failed to beat Leganes goalkeeper.
A video of Real Madrid star Rudiger reacting to Barcelona's loss has now emerged. The former Chelsea star was reportedly attending an event hosted by former teammate Toni Kroos. In the video, he could be seen checking the result of Barcelona's match with Leganes and laughing hilariously upon learning the Catalan giants lost.
Here's the video:
Meanwhile, Real Madrid also failed to win over the weekend, as they were held to a 3-3 away draw by Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, December 14. Rudiger featured in the clash, playing the entire game.
Barcelona, meanwhile, have been poor in recent weeks. They have won just one of their last six LaLiga games, recording three losses and two draws. They remain top of the table despite the loss to Leganes, with 38 points but could lose the top spot to either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.
Deigo Simeone's side are second with 38 points, while Carlo Ancelotti's men are third with 37 points. Both teams have a game in hand.
Real Madrid fail to overtake Barcelona as LaLiga title race intensifies
Real Madrid failed to overtake rivals Barcelona on the league table after a 3-3 draw away at Rayo Vallecano on Saturday. The home side raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half courtesy of goals from Unai Lopez (4') and Abdul Mumin (36'). Madrid responded through strikes from Federico Valverde (39') and Jude Bellingham (45') to level the scoreline before halftime.
Rodrygo Goes then put Los Blancos ahead in the game for the first time in the 56th minute, but Isi Palazon scored for Vallecano to make it 3-3. A win for Carlo Ancelotti's side would have seen them leapfrog Barcelona (who were yet to play) on the standings.
However, Barca's loss to Leganes means that Los Blancos could still overtake Hansi Flick's side. They have a game in hand and trail La Blaugrana by just a point.
