Real Madrid Transfer News Roundup: Jamal Musiala open to Los Blancos move, club receive Florian Wirtz boost, and more - September 30, 2024

Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in La Liga on Sunday, September 29, at the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium. Eder Militao gave his team the lead in the 64th minute but Angel Correa secured a point for Los Rojiblancos in the fifth minute of injury time.

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala is reportedly open to joining Los Blancos. Elsewhere, the La Liga champions have received a boost in their plans to sign Florian Wirtz next summer.

On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from September 30, 2024.

Jamal Musiala has hinted that he could be open to a move away from Bayern Munich. The German midfielder will enter the final year of his contract with the Bavarians at the end of this season.

Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl recently admitted that while the club want to tie him down to a new deal, a renewal could be difficult. Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation, as they consider Musiala as the ideal successor for Toni Kroos.

Speaking to The Guardian, however, the 21-year-old added that he is happy at the Allianz Arena.

“I don’t really have a plan or anything. I don’t try to think too far forward about where I want to be because situations can change by the year or the month. I’m open to everything but I’m very happy where I am right now,” said Musiala.

Recent reports have stated that Manchester City also have their sights set on signing Musiala.

Arsenal have left the race to sign Florian Wirtz, according to GiveMeSport. The highly-rated German midfielder is attracting attention from multiple clubs across the continent following his impressive rise with Bayer Leverkusen.

Wirtz helped his team win a historic Bundesliga title last season, along with the DFB Pokal, finishing the campaign with 18 goals and 20 assists from 49 games. He has been on fire this season as well, scoring six times and setting up one more from eight games.

His efforts have impressed Los Blancos, who are planning to take him to the Santiago Bernabeu. The La Liga giants also have their eyes on Xabi Alonso as Carlo Ancelotti's replacement and could knock on Bayer's door for the duo next summer.

Recent reports, though, have suggested that Arsenal are eyeing the 21-year-old as well. Mikel Arteta is apparently a fan of the player and sees him as a perfect fit to his tactics at the Emirates.

However, it is now being reported that the Gunners are not planning to splash the cash on the player in 2025. That will be pleasing news for Real Madrid although they may still have to pay close to €150m for Wirtz.

Brazil manager sends Vinicius Junior warning

Brazil manager Dorival Junior has warned against piling expectations on Vinicius Junior. The 23-year-old has been outstanding for Real Madrid in recent seasons and is one of the frontrunners to win the Ballon d'Or this year.

Vinicius registered 24 goals and set up 11 more from 39 games across competitions last season for Los Blancos. His efforts helped the Spanish giants win the league, the Champions League and the Spanish Supercup.

Despite the arrival of Kylian Mbappe over the summer, Vinicius remains a key man for Real Madrid. Los Blancos reportedly turned down a massive offer for the player from the Middle East this summer.

Speaking recently, as cited by SPORT, Dorival insisted that Vinicius shouldn't be burdened with demands.

“It will be a job for all of us. First of all, we must not generate excessive expectations. I don’t think there should be expectations of having a high level and an obligation to try to give results at every moment," said Dorival Junior.

He continued:

"If we continue with these demands that we want to see the same player at a specific moment, in a situation, and it doesn’t happen in the national team. We need to be calm to be able to wait for the moment when everything happens.”

Real Madrid will be counting on Vinicius as they aim to win every trophy on offer this season.
