Real Madrid have set their sights on Khephren Thuram, according to SPORT. The La Liga giants are in the market for a new midfielder following Toni Kroos' decision to leave.

The legendary German has already played his last game for the club and will hang up his boots at the end of Euro 2024. With Luka Modric also in the final phase of his career, and Dani Ceballos' future uncertain, Los Blancos are assessing their options.

Thuram has popped up on their radar following a series of convincing performances for Lille. The 23-year-old appeared 29 times across competitions for the French side, scoring one goal and setting up another. The Frenchman will enter the final year of his contract next month and could be available for €15-20m this summer.

Real Madrid want €25m to part ways with Andriy Lunin this summer, according to Football 365. The Ukrainian goalkeeper did a commendable job in the 2023/24 campaign, standing in for the injured Thibaut Courtois.

Lunin registered 12 clean sheets from 31 appearances in all competitions. However, he is not a first choice at the Santiago Bernabeu and remains unsettled at the club. His contract expires in 2025 and he hasn't agreed to a new deal yet.

Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs interested in the 25-year-old. The Gunners are looking for a new goalkeeper amid the uncertainties surrounding the future of Aaron Ramsdale. Lunin has been identified as an option. Los Blancos would prefer the player to stay, but are willing to let him go for a fair price.

Dani Carvajal has reiterated his desire to stay at Real Madrid. The Spanish right-back has been an integral part of the club's success over the last decade and remains a key figure in Los Blancos' starting XI.

Carvajal appeared 41 times across competitions in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring six goals and setting up five more. His contract with the La Liga giants expires at the end of next season and recent reports have suggested that the club want to hand him a new deal.

With Toni Kroos leaving and Luka Modric in the final phase of his career, Real Madrid are entering a transition phase. As such, succession plans for Carvajal could be on the cards soon.

However, speaking to AS, the 32-year-old insisted that he is not thinking about his future at the moment.

“I’m not thinking about anything at the moment. Neither for the future at Madrid nor to leave. I enjoy the moment, now I’m here at the European Championship and I talk about it many times with my wife," said Carvajal.

He continued:

“I enjoy every training session, every match; and what has to come, will come. I try not to obsess about the future because I like to live in the present, every situation that happens in my life.”

He concluded:

“At the moment I’m not thinking about leaving Madrid, far from it. My subjective perception is that the day I can’t contribute what I can contribute, I’ll take a step aside. But I’m very happy. I think I can give a lot to the club, to the team. And I’m more excited than ever.”

Los Blancos have a policy of offering one-year extensions to players over the age of 30.
