Real Madrid Transfer News Roundup: Los Blancos receive Rodri boost, Monaco wanted Spanish ace this summer, and more - September 6, 2024

Real Madrid roped in Kylian Mbappe and Endrick to bolster their attack over the summer. However, Carlo Ancelotti's team haven't had the best start to the new season, with two wins and two draws in the league so far.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos have received a boost in their efforts to sign Rodri. Elsewhere, Monaco had their eyes on a star midfielder this summer.

On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from September 6, 2024.

Rodri is willing to join Real Madrid, according to AS. The La Liga giants are looking for Toni Kroos' replacement and have their eyes on the Spanish midfielder.

Rodri has been an indispensable part of Manchester City's starting XI since arriving at the club in 2019. His efforts have turned heads at the Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos are planning to make a move for him at the end of this season.

Real Madrid are well stocked in the middle of the park, but they lack someone who can orchestrate the midfield like Kroos. Rodri is ideal for the job and already has experience of playing in La Liga with Villarreal and Atletico Madrid. The Spaniard would apparently be tempted to join Los Blancos if he leaves the Etihad.

City are aware of the interest in their prized asset, who is under contract until 2027. The Premier League champions are already considering a new deal for the 28-year-old. Rodri remains settled with City for now, but Pep Guardiola's expected departure next summer has added a degree of uncertainty to his future.

Monaco were interested in Dani Ceballos this summer, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano. The 28-year-old's future was subject to speculation across the transfer window, but he stayed at Real Madrid.

Real Betis were interested in their former player this year and even offered to buy 50% of his rights for €5m. However, it was reportedly turned down by Los Blancos as it didn't match the club's valuation of the Spaniard.

Ceballos was also wanted in Ligue 1, with Monaco proposing a late loan deal, which was also rejected by the La Liga giants. Real Madrid were only willing to let the player leave for €15-20m. Los Blancos ultimately opted to keep hold of the 28-year-old as they believe that he has an important role to play this season.

Dani Carvajal opens up on his future

Dani Carvajal has hinted that he could head to the MLS once his time with Real Madrid is over. The Spaniard has entered the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and his future remains uncertain.

Los Blancos are already tracking Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, which has added further doubts regarding Carvajal's next move. However, the 32-year-old is coming off a fantastic season with club and country, and the La Liga champions could also offer him a new deal.

Speaking to The Athletic, Carvajal said he would leave Europe once his time at Real Madrid is over.

"When I decide not to be at Real Madrid, I’m not going to play in Europe and the alternatives are much reduced. It’s a possibility. Exactly, it would be one of those three options(United States, Saudi Arabia or Qatar). I have until next summer on my contract. I’m not considering retirement at the moment," said Carvajal.

He added:

"I talk about it with my family: I want to enjoy every game, every training session. As the years go by, you realise you have to give more value to every moment and enjoy it. The relationship I have with the club is very transparent, very clear. If both parties agree to continue, I hope to stay here for many years.”

Carvajal has appeared 421 times for Los Blancos so far, registering 13 goals and 64 assists.
